My Story
Jon Hazell taught Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, and Environmental Science at Durant High School, as well as serving as the Student Council Advisor and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)huddle leader for 37 years. Mr. Hazell serves on the Bio-med educational advisory board for the Kiamichi Technology Center.
In 2016 Mr. Hazell was awarded the Professional Oklahoma Educators award as the outstanding high school teacher in Oklahoma. He has been awarded the Diamond Book Award by the Teachers Appreciation Foundation for 2017. In 2017 He was also one of only 38 educators in the nation to receive the Award for Teaching Excellence by the OEA and the NEA Foundation, and in August of 2016 he was named the 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year for the State of Oklahoma. In 2019 he received the Legacy Award from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and he also received the All-State Coach Award from FCA.
Mr. Hazell continues to travel and speak to educators and other various organizations concerning current educational and cultural issues.
My Approach
Jon Hazell is an energetic presenter who specializes in blending storytelling and educational research into dynamic and motivating sessions that will have participants on their feet and engaged.
Jon draws on her personal experience to provide professional development in classroom management, Science Methods and mentoring. He provides participants with ready to use strategies grounded in current educational research.
Jon delivers motivational keynotes and small group sessions. He is also available for semester or year long one on one mentoring for classroom educators and Fellowship of Christian Athletes coordinators.
